The Chocolate Angel Tea Room is locally owned and operated. The gals said there are 3 or 4 of them in the DFW area. Since we were a group we had a choice of three different things 1) a combo plate where you could choose from about 12 different things like chicken salad, fresh fruit salad, tuna salad, pasta salad, broccoli salad, etc 2) soup, sandwich and a salad 3) quiche, salad, & fruit. I picked #3 and it was very good but boy did the other stuff look good too! Especially the broccoli salad. And, of course they had desserts to die for, although I skipped that since I had fruit with my platter. It was a very busy place bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties and if you didn't have a reservation you didn't get in. I'm sure y'all have places like that where you live, it was a wonderful break from the stuff that I usually do on a Saturday.

Anyway I came home to find that John had already started on the yard work so we we worked some on that and then I made supper. Need to go help with the pool and then I think I done for the day.

Mar, Jill said they've been very lucky as their cabin steward moved their things for them (if things need to be moved). Otherwise she said they've been escorted as a group off of the ship to a holding area where they wait for a bit and they come right back on. Now today they were planning on doing a tour in SJ during the turn around on Grandeur.

I said to John while rinsing dishes that I wonder if Jill realizes that we're not meeting them in SJ today.

Oh well, sometime maybe we will surprise them.

Btw.........if anyone gets newspapers with coupons......would LOVE it if you could clip any baby formula or diaper ones!!!......We get like NO coupons in our Sunday paper here.....will have to subscribe to a 'big city' paper.....I'll send ya self addressed self stamped eps if anyone wants to!

I just read that in the first year they will use over 7,000 diapers........that's SEVEN THOUSAND>>>

Hey no problem, I use coupons every chance I get and so do my girls. I must save enough through the year to pay for groceries in Nov & Dec. The diapers you can buy ahead of time does she have a favorite brand, for Tricia I always liked to use Huggies. Bob, I didn't work so I used cloth ones and just washed them every other day. Will start to clip for you tomorrow.

I laugh at how it has changed from #1 to #2 to 3 & 4!!.....and this is the dd that used to ask why did her and her sis get treated so differently.....could never get her to understand that the first is always treated differently than the second and so on.......

Sorry Jul..dont get the paper........its the Ocala Star banner,but lovingly known as the Star Blunder around here.............front page news usually involves something about a race horse.....sice we are the Horse Capital here....

I did a b2b on the Sovereign......about 10am,I was escorted off to go back to the check in area........got a new seapass and got right back on.......it was like having the ship to myself...........I did change cabins(cuz the plumbing sucked) and the steward moved it all.......(well,I did pack stuff in the suitcase).but he moved the clothes right on the hanger

Sounds like a yummy lunch,Diane....we have alot of old Victorian houses here that are now restaurants.......sounds like what you went to.(food wise).......

Grilled steak tonite and made sauteed onions,peppers and shrooms for dinner........had some wine too(of course).......just waiting on Dennis to get home(in about an hour)

I don't get the newspaper either so no coupons to save. But If son decides to subscribe I will clip them and send. For awhile the doctor thought I was having twins with my first child. Nope I just got big fast.

Been fairly quiet here today picked out what clothes still fit that I can take on the ship with me. It is very embarrassing to find out how much one has gained and realize that you really don't have anything to wear that is proper for a cruise. I am bringing a new dress I bought at Dress Barn for church nd will use it for formal night, it is very simple. I hope it will be cold so jeans and sweatshirt will work. Even my Chico's are to tight.

I figure that I will start back on my walking tapes the 28th of April. No since in trying to start today and blow a good weekend on excerise

Kathy I usually stay on the ship in Catalina just because I have been there so many times. Yes I am very lazy and prefer to just read a book and sit in the lounge that over looks everything.

Now Ginny.........we all know you can go on a cruise with NO clothes and make it thru ok!!!!!......I still don't know how you handled that......i would have been one ballistic person and then I would have charged a small fortune buying a wardrobe and of course new luggage to put it in!

Jul we take the B'ham News, they usually are full of coupons...will get the baby ones for you. Look around online...there are several baby sites, signup and they send coupons also.

Well almost finished the retaining wall yesterday...another 100 rock came home, all the digging is done, those set...still need about 12 more rock..not quite as sore today. Will snap a pix & post when the dirt is moved...have piles along the wall right now.

Diane, Trussville has a similar spot called the Chocolate Biscuit. My neice had a baby shower there...was so much fun. Also reservation only...is listed as a "Tea Room" the have open seating on Wednesday afternoon only. Menu is very similar as well. Yes they hava a chocolte biscuit...is a home made biscuit with chocolate sauce over the top...OMG wonderful tasting. The sauce is very close to my Moms she made for years when I was young.

Jul - The Oregonian seems to have more ads than newpaper on Sundays! Huggies has coupons today. Have you noticed that coupons have really close expirey dates - used to be 3 - 6 months, now it's only a month.

I grilled pork ribs on the bbq today(with potatoes) before Dennis left for Key west.......think I'll go back outside and read a bit.........been getting library books..........I really enjoy reading when I can sit outside...

It's summer days when I miss our pool and great backyard that we had in Tx....around here there is nothing but ROCK......putting in a pool would cost more for excavation than for the pool itself.......

Course, without my dad's old pool biz it would cost me too much now!!...

soooooooo guess I'll just try to enjoy the deck out front and watch dh do all his honey do's....hehehe.......

he's trying to finish up my shelving unit for my closet.....sanding and staining...course, he didn't have any sandpaper==had to go to HD, then the sander (40 yrs old) broke, so now he's trying to repair it......well, MAYBE he'll finish up the shelving unit today.........

chores about done soooo maybe some scrapbooking time.....still haven't finished my pb trip......or maybe I'll redesign the scpbooking computer room and figure out how much it'll cost to redo.......mmmmmmmmmm

Jul - I had the same idea as Barb...go to coupons.com and there are several coupon sites. Good idea, start stocking up.

Kathy, yepperz...Patti, Sheila and Nancy will soon be posting again. I don't know about the others, but I think Patti is staying over another night before flying home. Can't wait to hear more about the b2b.

Ok....you guys are going to love this one....
Hand is getting better from the cat bite....and that potent antibiotic is working.....BUT, now I have severe diarrhea (which can be a side effect)....was up all night with it...feel like I am preparing for a colonoscopy!! Called the Dr-on-duty and now have a Z Pak...but it will take awhile for the other antibiotic's effects to wear off. DON"T EVER TAKE Amoxycillin/Clavulanate Potassium!!!!!

Finally came in......figured I'll be so hot tonite when Im in bed.....of course,I get hot even when Im not in the sun........not really hot sweaty flashes.....just feels like the temp in my body is soooo high........lasts a couple of mins and then I get cold(from not have the sheets on)........does this last forever?(please tell me no)........

Kathy...........I kick the blankets off and on all night long.......don't really get the major 'hot' flashes (at least not that I know of!!!).....guess the premarin is keeping those at bay.....but the 'hots' are getting fewer and fewer between.....

Sheila and Patti may have to type long emails to blast around the horn.....they'll fill up pages on here!!!

Just read on another board where a group of friends are cruising Alaska on Princess out of San Francisco in August 2009. Think I will join them as it sounds really fun. Have cruised with a few of the a couple times now and it is fun meeting up again.

Anyone know anything about the Sea Princess? What is the ship like?

Hi all! I'm back from the Grandeur! We got in late last night. Flight was early but it took an hour to get our luggage!!! Never waited that long! Saw Jill and Dave several times, but to be honest, I was a slug all week and it just felt goooood not to do anything! Sun, sleep, liquor, repeat! Ray got off in Coz a couple times, once by himself and then again in the afternoon with 'the boys'! They were medicine and vanilla shopping! We did enjoy Aruba, but other than that, I just vegged!

Ray is taking his mom to the train home and I'm still doing laundry. I'd like to just leave some of it until later in the week, but the house cleaners come tomorrow, so I have to clean up before they get here! Ciao for now....
