Somehow I've escaped both the cold and the flu this season. Only trip to the DR this year so far (knock on wood) has been for my back.


Frozen Mojito sounds good even to me and I don't drink that frequently.

Well, I just typed a long reply then lost it! This one will not be as good.

Nancy - It must be very tiring for SIL to be teaching at this time. All good thoughts to him and all the family.

I just came back from a land based vacation - a week in Trinidad and 3 days in Tobago. I understand why Jill was not impressed - I didn't go to Port of Spain, just saw it from the plane.

I stayed in eco lodges in the rain forest (fortunately it didn't rain too much . The rainforest and nature reserves were great. Tobago was very laid back, but it was very hilly and the roads were very winding. No a good place to have motion sicknes! I was on a birding trip and saw almost 200 different species, over 140 of which I had never seen before. I really enjoyed it and am thinking of doing another birding trip next Spring.

sounds great. some of my fav crew seem to always be from Trinidad & Tobago

Jean #2 glad you were able to see so many new species of birds. Sounds like it was a very satisfying trip.

WOW what a vacation. And here I thought you have seen every type of species of bird.

Did you happen to see any Toucans??? Seems most of the islands are hilly with winding roads...

Ours too, that's why we wanted to see their island, but were not impressed at all...

On the home page it lists the total number of different topics that have been posted and the total number of posts. That was 50K for the entire website, not just our thread, although you have to know that a lot of the early posts were just us! LOL Sorry I didn't mean confuse anyone!

Busy day......taking pups to the kennel,Dennis to the doctor(followup), to the back,then come home and pack!! Leaving first thing tomorrow morning........my friend and I are spending the day at Busch Gardens before the cruise on Thursday...........

Was supposed to go to IBM today but got pulled off to do a project that should have been done last year. I really hate it when they drag their feet. But what can you do, they're obviously smarter than you are because they're management!

Hey Jean, good to hear from you. Glad you had a good birding trip. I agree with all of you about the crew members from Trinidad and Tobago. They are usually the nicest most hard working and cheerful folks. I just received a card this Christmas from a crew friend with pics of her new baby and info about when she was returning and to what ship. I hope we can catch up with her again. I guess if the islands are not so impressive they must be happy 'cause they're away from it.

Someone mentioned gel nails and I was wondering what those are? I have had acrylics (sp) before
