Kathy either JFK or LGA (LaGuardia) would be best. Newark could cause unnecessary tension on your return flight since there is no reasoning with NYC/NJ traffic. |

| Kathy, Here's my travel tip for you, try and book on United. They have dropped their second checked bag fee which means if you check 2 bags and your husband doesn't check any you only have to pay one $15 bag fee. I hate the bagage fee to me it's like going to a restaurant and having to pay extra for silverware. |

| United doesnt do non stops from Orlando....and they cost alot more(never understand why the ones that take forever to get somewhere cost so much more)
JetBlue doesnt charge for the 1st piece either plus free snacks, movies, satellite radio,etc..........they have alot ............... |

| Southwest airlines will be flying out of LGA some day, and they have: no first bag fee no second bag fee no change fee no window/aisle seat fee no curbside check in fee no phone reservation fee no snack fee no fuel surcharge fee |

| Unfortunately Southwest only flys Chicago Midway to Long Island. Unless the airfare is at least $100 less I don't fly out of Chicago Midway since that's what it costs us to get to Midway. We can usually get a free ride to O'Hare and it's only about 20 minutes away. Midway is over an hour away, I think I'd almost rather fly out of Milwaukee than Midway and depending on traffic it can actually take less time to get to Milwaukee. There was a time when the difference in airfare was worth the drive and parking was cheap enough to make it worth while to fly out of Midway at best now we would save about $20 per ticket. Never though of Jet Blue. Though currently American has the lowest airfare. It seems like lately I've been able to get slightly better fares booking 3 or 4 months out. Though we're going to have to be prepared for even more delays traveling from Chicago since I'm pretty sure we'll be delayed by AirForce One on occasion when we become a temporary "no fly" zone. |

Southwest is finally over the next 8 years (I think) phasing out the double charge for crossing state lines out of Love Field here, in return for allowing other planes to use Love Field. I never once was able to take Southwest to a airport in another state for less than I could fly any major airlines out of DFW. This was a major battle to get this double charge removed, and it has to be phased out. After that I hope they will be competitive out of Dallas too. We also dont have any of the low cost carriers like Air Tran or Jet Blue, so its always been more expensive to fly out of Dallas than other airports. The battle over Love Field went on for years.

| I love SWA out of Nashville to most destinations ... can't wait for them to fly into LGA, because for now Islip is way too far away for my liking. |

Ut oh, them is fightin' words for Andy, I'm taking cover - they'll be back on Saturday ... Don't read the 4th of July thread Andy, please don't read the 4th of July thread... I have already expressed my discontent about who would win these cabins to Tina. I will refrain from directly insulting any individual but, there is a reason I put the Ballad of Jed Clampett in my signature line, it's oblivious of who will be a good fit for Cunard and who won't. I will leave it at that since I know Tina's reasoning was to help promote the boards and, I will not do anything to destroy what she is doing. However, I am sure most of you who already know me will appreciate my reasoning for NOT booking the 4th of July sailing for 2009, and, I'm still not 100% certain we'll keep our Christmas booking. I do wish those going a wonderful time and, I hope your taste of Cunard is everything you are expecting and more...

| Oblivious???????? OKay, I will try to refrain from directly insulting you! But, if you are not booking a cruise because a few of us contest winners might not be "Cunard Material" then you are truly a snob, and will probably missing out on meeting some truly great people! I feel sorry for you! | |

| I will try to refrain from further comments other than the following: I didn't name you, I didn't name anyone. I will leave this thread for those sailing, and, I still wish you well and hope you all enjoy Cunard. I just know some are going to be fish out of water, and, I feel bad for them since they themselves will know it. And, yes, I am a snob. I have never denied it and I never will. | |

I guess at least you admit you are a snob, maybe we should drag you on a Carnival Cruise just for the shear torture of it! How are your legs Andy! Well gee with a great mind like yours, how am I to compete in this battle of wits? I've been on Carnival and I have enjoyed Carnival. I also knew what to expect when I sailed on Carnival and therefore, I wasn't in culture shock. I just can't imagine some trying to mix with the Cunard crowd and, don't even attempt to pull blue collar worker with me. Nick works in construction and yet the man is educated, has outstanding manners, and an income that allows him to enjoy Cunard without winning a cabin. Additionally, Vic, also knows enough to save his money and also has outstanding manners and knows how to conduct himself with proper company. That is not what I am attempting to convey. I do not put people down because of their occupations or financial situation. Half of you don't even understand the concept of formal night. That's the point I'm driving home. Tell me, if you see a bowl with water and lemon in it, are you going to drink it?
