We may be landlocked here in Tennessee, but there is a PADI certified dive school about 10 miles or less from my home. I just need doc to sign off on a medical cert, and I'm good to go.

Well that was some great news seeing Nina and Bennet this morning, wasn't it?

Now, since you're on the topic of SCUBA - say a big chicken like me - wants to give it a try. How do I even go about this - I know I should go to a SCUBA school but, is there anything special I need to know?

In some ports "learn to SCUBA" might be offered as an excursion, but that will limit you as to when and where you can dive. In ports that don't offer a "learn to" excursion you'd be outta luck if you aren't already dive certified.

Getting certified isn't too hard really, you just need to find a SCUBA school close to you and make the time to do it.

Learning is quite easy, only takes a few days and a couple hundred bucks. Cert is good forever, and allows you to rent dive gear, and dive safely.
