Dumb Question about Group Cruises Here

Ok, I know this is going to sound dumb but, I have a question or two about the group cruises being offered in association with Cruise Freek Forums.

Do the travel agents who are in charge of the group sail with us? If so, are they considered the group leaders?

Also, do you have to be registered on here to book the group sailings?

No, you do not have to be registered here to book ... but of course everyone will be invited to participate in the Cruise Freeks Forums leading up to the cruise, so registration would be a good idea, just not required.

As for the TA question, I can only answer for myself ... the other TAs can chime in too.

I will sail with some of the groups, but because of other things (like life) I cannot commit to sailing with every single group. When I do not sail with an official Cruise Freeks group cruise, someone else will be deemed the group leader (preferably on a volunteer basis ).

Sounds fair to me! Any perks to being the group leader?

Group Cruise Terms and Conditions:

1) You do NOT need to be a member of Cruise Freek Forums to join a Cruise Freek Forum group cruise. While we'd love to have you as a member, it's isn't a requirement. Simply contact the travel agent in charge and they'll book you into the group.

2) Travel agents in charge of the group determine how to distribute amenities points (Amenities points are incentives the cruise lines sometimes offer to group bookings. However, amenities points are not guaranteed for every sailing and it is up to the cruise line and not the travel agent to determine).

3) It is up to the travel agent in charge of the group to determine whether he or she will be escorting the group, thus, being the group leader. Should the travel agent in charge be unable to accompany the group, then a leader from within the group will be assigned and, at this time it will be up to the travel agent in charge to make the decision of who will be selected.

4) Group leader perks can include earning a free cabin if enough people are booked within the group. So it is worth your time and effort not to just recruit members from here on the board but also at work, church, and of course, your friends and family! **While the cabin is free, taxes and charges are still due and each cruise line has it's own special set of rules when it comes to free cabins earned. Please consult with the travel agent assigned to your group for full details.**
