We're in Bamberg Hence the beer in hand! For those who might not know, Bamberg is located within Bavaria. It's very pretty and to be honest, sometimes it feels like there are more Americans here than Germans!

| We really should start discussing this a little more, April will be here before we know it and we won't have a plan in place. Oh I know Nina would come up with something terrific for us but, I think it's very exciting. |

| I know we've been discussing this double transit being an Epicurean delight and, I know 21 was suggested for a pre-cruise dinner but, I wanted to bring up the possibility of The Boathouse in Central Park. I'm heading there for dinner tonight. For those unfamiliar here's a link: http://www.thecentralparkboathouse.com/The food might not be as outstanding as 21 but, it's still very good, and, let's face it, you go to the boathouse for the view and atmosphere |

| Very good suggestion Christina! Another thought - IF and I do mean IF Trump does get hold of Tavern on the Green and turns it around that could be another worthwhile experience. Now for a very wacky lunch experience we could go to Jekyll and Hyde http://www.jekyllandhydeclub.com/home.htm The food is just ok, certainly nothing to rave about, but, it sure is a lot of fun! We could also take a dinner cruise but, generally speaking the food is just ok but, if it something the group wants to consider, I recommend Bateaux http://www.bateauxnewyork.com/ba/index.jsp over Spirit Cruises. Better all the way around from food to the whole experience All depends on what everyone wants to do after dinner or if dinner will be the main event the night before the cruise |

All depends on what everyone wants to do after dinner or if dinner will be the main event the night before the cruise Haven't heard anything else about Trump and Tavern on the Green but, you're right! If Trump does take it over, it will be restored to it's former glory. It's a shame, it is still so pretty in so many ways but the food is just average at best, the service spotty and if you look beyond the glitz, you can see it's aging. Like Nick, I'm not a fan of those dinner cruises either. The views are wonderful but, I'd rather have a good dinner then take the Circle Line or go to the theater. Personally, I like the idea of 21. The Boathouse is great but, we'd have to walk and there might be people who can't or wouldn't want to walk through the park to get to the restaurant. And, a biggie for me, no dessert menu to speak of... 21 Club is always good, they can handle a private group and we're well situated to go to the East or West sides. However, I'll remain flexible, whatever the group wants, I'll go along with too.

| Not sure, I'll do the full double transit. We'll take the European segment for sure, it all depends on length/time before we can commit to long of a trip this will be for us. | |

| Thanks Shelia Todd, I plan on the full transit but my husband will probably come for just the European segment or perhaps the Eastbound (to help get the children and I settled in onboard) and the European depending on how much time he can get off his other job at that point. | |

| Well, I can't believe it but, it looks like I will be able to take advantage of the full 20+ day double transit. I'm assuming this will open in April, 2009 for booking.

| That's great Neil! I'm still not sure what we're doing - Europe is definite, however, whether we'll be doing the Transatlantic segments on either end is still up in the air. | |

| I was just doing some fast math and calculating costs. Normally we fly business/first, I'm not sure how many of you do likewise but, if you do - the cost of a round trip business/first on Virgin is running around $3500 - $4000 per person based on today's rates. So if you figure $7000 - 8000 for two people on air fare that more than makes up for the pricing for the full double transit. In fact, it's probably lower, so that's something to keep in mind as everyone start planning for 2010.
I was quoted $18,786.24 USD for Category A2 for the September 4, 2008 double transit that is 23 days in length. So, if you look at it in these terms, it's really a good deal!
