Crystal Group 2011 for the Holidays!

A thought for all to ponder... If this group is a success and, I have a feeling it will be since it's being organized so early. Would anyone be interested in attempting another group in 2012? Perhaps for Europe? No rush, plenty of time.

Do you like to repeat where you have gone or try a new area in Europe? I've sailed on Crystal around the British Isles. Of course most of the people in our group were golfers and they went nuts over that itinerary. Until I started thinking back I'd forgotten that it was Crystal I had sailed on between Barcelona and Rome. Again the ports of call were very good! It would be fun to hear the readers opinions about taking Crystal to Europe sometime.

Since my main vacation is during Christmas/New Year's weeks every year, I would only be able to go on a 7 - 10 day cruise (although another full two weeks isn't entirely out of the question with enough notice), however, yes, I'm very interested.

I like mixing my cruise vacations with both previous ports and news one so I'm open to ideas/suggestions. My favorite Mediterranean port is Venice, can never visit there enough. My favorite Northern Europe port is Amsterdam. And my favorite Caribbean port is Aruba.

My secret wish? That Crystal had a 7 night sailing, round trip from NYC to Bermuda. I'd book on the spot!

So let's see how this develops. I do think another group in 2012 would be great.

Ed, don't wish to loudly you may get your wish..... Crystal is sailing out of New York to Bermuda but for 12 days (sorry not 7 days) in Nov 09 on her way to the Caribbean and Miami with ports of call in Bermuda, St Maarten, Antiqua, Curacao, Grand Cayman.

Someone appears to have put a link to our opt-in list over on Cruise Critic. While I appreciate the fact you're trying to boost the group, please refrain from doing so in the future. We do not need or want to recruit anyone in this manner and, I do not condone or tolerate this type of behavior.

However, you are more than welcome to spread the word by personal recommendations, etc., just do not spam other sites or via email.

I will be doing of plenty of marketing to bring the group up to a respectable size to present to Crystal when they open the 2011 sailings. We do not even know if we will get approval for group status for the holidays. So, please don't make statements or promises we don't know we can keep yet.

I'm sure we'll be able to fill group space, provided it can be obtained for us. Crystal has lower berth policies for groups than other cruise lines.

Agreed, I just hope we have some luck with the group. I know Crystal can be tough to obtain group space and during the holidays, this could be a real challenge. However, there isn't anything preventing us from forming an unofficial group should they not give us official group status!

I have no TA loyalty at this point, I'd be willing to form a non-group, group if necessary.

I see no new people signed up yet, we'll have to keep this thread a bit more active.

It's still too early for people to commit this far out PLUS Crystal is a very limited market.

I think you will find that come fall 09 early 2010 this thread will really take off as more information should be available then
