Subject: Tell me about Radiance and Alaska Tue May 06, 2008 8:17 pm
I'm fairly new here and, I'm thinking about the Alaska cruise on Radiance of the Seas that Cruise Freeks is offering in July, 2009. I've never sailed to Alaska and I've never sailed on a Radiance - what can you tell me about both?
Thanks

We did our Alaska cruise last summer on the Radiance of the Seas (northbout from Vancouver to Seward) and we absolutely LOVED it!! The age range of the group was from 17 to 80, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Our whole group had balcony staterooms except for one which was in a Grand Suite (upgraded from a Junior Suite). It was great being able to sit on the balcony and watch the scenery go by.....

We've done Alaska 4 times....I would go every year if I could!! Definitely get a balcony, the scenery is amazing.
Radiance was our ship for 3 of the cruises up there....LOVE HER.......I'm not sure what you are wanting to know about the ship but it was perfect.....love the Windjammer back deck for Alaska too....covered area is awesome for doing the glacier (it has been somewhat rainy when we are there) I set up a tripod and video and just filmed the whole time....
Juneau is great whale watching tours....we did one in Icy strait point too, not as good as Juneau but it was still good....the bear watch tour stunk....one bear way far away but was kind of boring....Dramaqueen (I think it was Sheila) did one on her own and had a much better tour.

I worked on the Radiance that summer as a casino supervisor and had an great time. I think I recognize you from you photo. I have worked Alaska for 3 summers and if you like the outdoors it is the place to go.

I wouldn't be surprised ... I spent a "bit of time" playing Let It Ride.
Speaking of which ... do all the ship casinos have Let It Ride? And do they have the 3-card hand $5 bonus bet option still????

Solstice had NO let it ride at all And Enchantment of the Seas had it, but without the 3-card bonus bet.
