New York City Hotels - Luxury/Upscale Seeking Recommendation

More than likely we'll be book the Cruise Freek's Cunard Holiday in 2009. I'm looking for upscale/luxury hotels in New York City. Any recommendations?

I like the Holiday Inn on West 57th, not too pricey but a bit out of the way.

Personally, I like Sofitel, it's located on 44th and it puts as midtown as you can ask! Easy access to both East and West sides. Here's the hotel link:

I was born and raised in Manhattan and I go back 2x a year. Luxury hotels, sure, depends ont he price Omni Bershire on 52nd street and Mad is good, about 4 -5 star

The Ritz Carlton on Central Park, Four Seasons all 5 star. The Ritz Carlton has the La Praire spa that I go to. One of I think only 2 in the US the other one is on the World Cruise ship that people own appartments on.

You have the Carlyle which is 5 star. There are many 5 star hotels all depends what you want to pay.
