Crashing the party here I'm going to do my best to get on this one with you guys. Yes, yes, I'm slumming but, heck, a cruise specifically to the Canary Islands - with you guys? How could I pass it up?

Besides other things are brewing that might be taking place on this sailing. Some of you might get the picture

ed - can you recommend a decent (i can't afford professional grade) still shot camera and camcorder?

Sorry I haven't been posting all that much. I'm actually in the hospital right now... I have been since Friday. I'm having my all bladder removed tomorrow. Fun!

Anyway, if you could mosey on over to my poll on the thread in the 2010 cruise section and let me know what kind of cabin you would like, it would REALLY help with creating the group. Thanks so much!

Thanks, all. I appreciate it. I'm nervous, to say the least. Annoyed, too, since I was in the hospital with the EXACT SAME symptoms in January and all but 1 doctor dismissed it as a virus. Thank goodness he's the one doing the surgery tomorrow!!!

Penny - I think the airfare will be well under $700. I will keep my eye on rates.

No Pat, the flights that were awful when I used to go to London frequently on short business trips, fly on Thursday and return on Sunday, back in the office at 8:00 a.m. Monday morning. I think any flights with a week or more in between is great. Catch an evening flight to London, sleep on the plane and get there in the morning, and have some fun before going to Southhampton to catch the ship. Or if you can get the vacation time, take a transatlantic crossing, have a few days in London, take the Eclipse sailing and do a return transatlantic crossing. A Cunard double transit! You should be very relaxed by the end of that trip!

kelcie - get me those rose colored glasses you're wearing so i can take not 1 but 2 cunard sailings - yikes. or even better what is that a month of vacation? oh heck - i'll just juice myself up and head toward the plane. someone check to make sure i'm on the right one!

Are the majority of the people going live in the BY area? Maybe we can all fly out as a group, too.

I think it sucks that they've opened the cruise to England and not to the US. Hopefully, I'll be able to block group space before being wheeled away for m surgery!

I'm on the phone with Celebrity right now. The sailing is almost sold out!!!! I wasn't even able to pull inside and oceanviews into the group-- There aren't enough left! I have to book you in individual (if they are still available), then pull you into the group. I have a bunch of Verandas and Suites.... That's all I was able to do. PRTTraveller@gmail.com

OMG...you mean they are going to be speaking "English" on this ship????

Well Pete, I imagine just a few of them might be! I imagine that they will put some sort of tea/hot water kettle in the rooms as well. At least I won't be the only one trying to remember a few spanish phrases while in port.
