| Hi everyone!
For anyone traveling in a few days early for the cruise or staying after, Hotwire has some really great rates right now on hotels.
My Sister got the Intercontinental for four nights at $126 a night and I got the same hotel for two nights at $132 per night. I guess it's cheaper if you stay longer. The rates on their website were $259 and up per night. I just love a bargain!

| Need some help please, a friend has booked a hotel for two nights the Intercontinental for the 28 & 29 of June. Was thinking of doing the same however wonder if it is close to Grand Hyatt and/or if it would be better to pay the higher price and stay at the Grand Hyatt for those two nights. Have no clue about the area other then what I read here some time ago. | |

Ok, I hope this map link works. As you will see while it looks relatively close the Intercontinental will put you a bit more upper mid-town. Point "A" on the map is the Intercontinental and Point "B" is the Hyatt at Grand Central. The question back to you is... What do you plan on doing? If you're going to do shopping, go to museums, and things of that nature, the Intercontinental is the better location. Let me know and, I'll try to help you make the decision. View Larger Map |

| Thanks Nick,
I think go to Ground Zero, the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and probably a few nice stores to window shop would be fun. We will be moving to the Grand Hyatt on the 30th if staying else where.
Point A to B does not look like walking distance, am I wrong?

Point A to B does not look like walking distance, am I wrong? Since most of the things you want to do are downtown, I'd go with the Hyatt. It's walkable from point a to point b but, unless you are a walker, you'll be tired before you start. Besides the other plus of the Hyatt is that you literally have Grand Central next door and you can get a subway to anywhere in the city. |

The online rates for the Intercontinental sure look good. The cancellation policy sure is strict. (fully nonrefundable??!!) If you can get the hotel on hotwire for $126 a night though, that's a super rate. I had booked the Radisson a while back and paying more than that for both nights. Only $25 to cancel though. The Intercontinental sounds nice.

| Thanks, I went ahead and booked the Grand Hyatt for the 28th and 29th. Did not want to switch to a different hotel and figure that I can meet up with Jen and her family some how on the 29th for sightseeing. I do appreciate everyone's help. | |

| I was torn both ways, I think booking the same hotel will be easier than switching. Our hotel is walking distance, about 3 blocks north, so we were just walking to the Grand. | |

Good trip, nice to be where it was warm. Came back with new freckles and a little color. Perfect weather to sit out in the sun once we got out a ways from here. The rest of my dresses for QM2 came while we were gone.

| Welcome back Jane!
The prices at the Grand were not to bad, if you only need one room, but I needed 3 rooms for two extra nights, so we will have to move for the last night.
Has anyone decided what tours they want to do?

When I was booking a hotel, prices were considerably higher than what I'm seeing now, oh well. Im sure the Radisson will be ok. Hotwire was also higher than what I'm seeing now and the Grand started at $270 plus tax per night. Now if you book 2 or more nights, even the Grand is giving you a deal, but the lower prices say nonrefundable, and since I don't have airfare booked yet, I wasn't willing to book nonrefundable. If Tina or the group comes up with a excursion, we will probably just do what the group does.

| I was talking to people from Boston last night and told them we would be in Boston watching the fireworks from QMII and they said that Fireworks over the water in Boston on the 4th was "THE BEST" . I am anxious about this trip! What a patriotic place to be on Independence day! |

| Hi everyone! I came across a discount code and map for NYC, thought I would share it with you all. http://www.newyorksmartsave.com/index.php The discounts are not that great, but I love the map you can download, that points out alot of the major attractions. | |
