Holland America Line to Feature Exclusive Signature Shops on New ms Eurodam in 2008
New Trend of Expanded Selection, Upscale Choices for Cruise Guests
SEATTLE, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Holland America Line's first
Signature-class ship, ms Eurodam, will feature an exclusive collection of
Signature Shops in a substantially expanded shopping promenade -- along
with many other enhancements -- when the 2,104-passenger luxury liner
debuts in June 2008.
The Signature Shops concept highlights four major additions: high-end
Merabella, offering one-of-a-kind designer jewelry collections; Fine
Jewelry, specializing in diamonds and exotic gemstones; Fine Watches,
featuring the best brands from around the world; and Destination & Apparel,tailoring its selection to the climate that guests are cruising, plus
classic nautical wear.
"Holland America Line successfully introduced Merabella, the high-end
jewelry store, on the ms Amsterdam and added it to the Vista-class ms
Westerdam in May," said Richard D. Meadows, executive vice president,
marketing, sales and guest programs. "The positive response from guests
convinced us to include Merabella on our new Eurodam as well as introduceit to other ships in our fleet.
"Guest feedback also led Holland America Line to add approximately
1,000 square feet of boutique space and add other luxury Signature Shops on these ships," continued Meadows. "We're responding to a new trend in cruise guests' shopping preferences -- they definitely want expanded selection andupscale choices while cruising."
Holland America Line guests will find unique jewelry collections from
LeVian, Omar Torres, Chimento, Mazza, XXOO and many more designers at
Merabella. Or they can choose from an amazing selection of diamonds and
rare gemstones from around the world in the Fine Jewelry Signature Shop. It includes Diamond Journey, Diamond Fashion and Blue Diamond collections. Fine Watches educates guests on the craftsmanship and heritage of elegant timepieces from Fendi, Tissot, Baume & Mercier, Longines, Movado,Rado, Tag Heuer and other top designer brands.
The Destination & Apparel Signature Shop showcases destination-themed
clothing as well as the Holland Signature Nautical Collection of crisp
whites, warm blues and sophisticated nautical stripes that lend themselvesto cruising in any destination. It also offers apparel that is cruise-and/or destination-inspired.
With one more deck than Holland America Line's 10-deck Vista-class
ships, the Signature-class Eurodam will feature three alternative dining
venues, including a new pan-Asian restaurant on deck 10 with panoramic
views. The Explorations Cafe -- powered by The New York Times -- will be
located on deck 11 on the starboard side of the Crow's Nest. Other
additions are an Explorer's Lounge Bar, a new specialty restaurant adjacentto the Lido offering the finest in Italian food, new atrium bar area,
enhanced and reconfigured show lounge with theater-style seating, and a newphotographic and imaging center.
Eurodam is scheduled to debut in June 2008 with European inaugural
events and then cruise the Baltic region through the summer. The ship will
then offer its first trans-Atlantic cruise and sail Canada/New England in
the fall, followed by Caribbean itineraries the remainder of 2008.
