Our Adopted Soldier

Has anyone heard from our adopted soldier Sam? Seems Kelcie has not gotten an email from him in awhile and frankly, i'm concerned. I have a big package to send him so i'm going to email him and confirm his address but i hope someone has heard from him recently. Keep us informed if anyone hears from him. thanks.

I wouldnt worry just yet. If they got sent to do something, they cant tell you that they are going for a while or what they are doing. You wouldnt know until he gets back. Try not to worry.

you're right jane but you know first instinct in that situation is to worry.

he just emailed me a short email. hasn't felt too good but says he's still around and kicking and apologized for not getting back to us quicker! LOL

rod - pm me with your email address and i will give you his email and address if you want to send anything to him and to mail cards, etc. i just don't want to post it flat out due to the rules i agreed to about keeping his identity private but he emails with a couple of the people on here (kelcie, pete, barb, me)

I donated plenty to the casinos. However, Don did well in the bowling tournament.

hey barb - while you were away yesterday was quite a day here. the canary islands trip is shaping up nicely and not too many cabins left. jump on board with us.

got a 15 pound package of jerky, slim jim, tobacco going out to sam tomorrow but i have to fill out a customs form and bring it to the post office. it is almost popping at the seams.

anyone heard from our soldier sam? i sent him a big box of stuff a littler over a week ago but i don't expect he got it yet but i'm wondering why no updates from him. ANYBODY?

Last year, for my boss's birthday, we took up a collection and adopted 4 soldiers on his behalf. We had enough money to send boxes to all four soldiers every month for the entire time they were in Iraq/Afghanistan. Some of the boxes weighed 30+ pounds. We went to our local hotels and got them to donate shampoo, soap... you know, all that stuff they leave in all the rooms. Plus we found out the mice and rats were eating through the boxes so we got a popcorn company to donate those huge popcorn tins they use. We put all the edible items in the tin and put that in the box then we loaded the space around the tin with the non-perishables. It worked out great!!

I think it's great that you have a soldier too!!!!

no still waiting to hear from him. must be busy. i'm sure he doesn't sit around all day like us.
