| The ride up U.S. 17 from Hilton Head to Charleston is about 2 hours max. Not a bad ride. If it is a weekday that you go there, stop for lunch at the El Dorado on U.S. 17 about 2 miles north of Citadel Mall. They have a very good all you can eat Mexican buffet. | |

| Sounds like you're going to have a fun trip! You'll have to take some photos to share on here when you get back! (and it will be warmer! ahhhh) We can't wait till the triplets are old enough to take on a vacation!! (Unfortunately, we are not as close to the older grandchildren that we have.) | |

Thanks for the tip , I think the kids will not like Mexican though. A ghost will be more appealing. We should have the result of the contest by then also just to be sure we go to the right place | |

| Well, my step-daughter was only 17 when she had our first grandchild. But our youngest will be 24 - that's the mom of the triplets. I can see you wanting to wait... But I have to tell you - it's the greatest thing! | |

| I am 44, and had a grandchild at 41. I didn't think I was ready either...but it's REALLY something to cherish. I can't even explain how different it is. I love every moment of it. I love it when she calls me grandpa..... (and no...I don't feel old) | |

| You know, at 41, I was not thinking of being a Grandma yet, but after going through BC twice, and now being 48 this year, I can't wait until I have Grandchildren. Cherish them every second. My daughter can not have children after having cancer treatments as a child. We hope they will be able to adopt someday. She has my 2 grandpuppies(pics at Dog lovers forum)My son,who is 28, doesn't want to have any right now, so we wait......patiently...... |

| jackie - you know if they're not ready - you'll just have to wait. so you have some 4 legged grandchildren until your daughter finds an adoption or your son comes through. it'll happen. just takes time. |
