This one is the second to carry that name for Princess. It is one of the former Renaissance ships - the R-8, that then became the Minerva II for Swan Hellenic. It was transferred to Princess from Swan Hellenic when both were under the Carnival corporate umbrella (Swan no longer is) and rechristened as the Royal Princess by Lorraine Artz, Princess' most traveled passenger, who maintains a suite on board and travels with the ship most of the time. We were on her for the Montreal to Fort Lauderdale Colonial America cruise this past fall. She's a sibling to Tahitian and Pacific Princesses, but was built without the mini-suites, so carries a few more passengers - around 700 to their 600 plus.
