QM2 Planetaruim

I imagine the Planetarium on the QM2 is very popular. Is it hard to get a seat ? Are there many shows a day ? Do I have to plan well in advance to get in ?

You can obtain tickets for the Planetarium in the morning, they are free but go very fast.

Do youu have to line up ? I hate lining up.

The tickets are available around 9AM when the ConneXions Deck located on Deck 2, Forward between Elevator Bank A & B opens up. The tickets are divided into about 3-4 showtimes.

Yes, unfortunately there is a line up that does occurs at the doorway of the Illuminations Theater on Deck 3.

The line up is very casual and not in the form of a line, but people heading for the doorway where the tickets are collected. It can be abit hairy at times.

Best to get there earlier and hang around very near the doorway.

Also a way to get a good seat too!

Sounds like you are on the other side of the Bridge in SI from me - (Me) Bay Ridge.

I was on another Cruise Board that unfortunately changed over the last year or two and did not make me feel comfortable posting that often.

My wife and I have experienced much from our decades of cruising with especially Cunard, but know we will also learn many things from all here on the boards. "No One Is Ever To Old To Learn".

I am right next to Fort Hamilton Army Base and have a great shot at the harbor and VZ Bridge.

I have the best view year round of the incoming and outgoings of the Cruise Ships out of Redhook, Cape Liberty and Manhattan.

I especially enjoy Saturday & Sundays in the summer with an average of 4-5 ships departing together in a parade fashion.

Pat, I was thinking that being nice to the boss might earn get you a few rep. points, being nice is just in your personality. Now back to the thread. Tony, have you looked at the pictures, of the seats that show where to sit to get the best view? I think that's why people go early, is just to get their favorite seat in the section. It's a great idea to have on a cruise ship.

I never had any problem obtaining tickets for the planetarium shows. They were just sitting out in a box at the Connections desk. I am not keen on standing in line so I just dropped by the desk an hour or so after the tickets became available and never had a problem getting them. I imagine, however, that availablity would change from sailing to sailing- depending on the interests of the passengers sailing each voyage. I saw a couple shows and they were amazing- don't miss it!

Planetarium at sea....this is too cool! I can't wait.
