$50 Casino Credit Contest on the 2010 Christmas Cruise

We will have a door decorating contest on the 2010 RCL Christmas Cruise. Prize will be a $50 casino credit for the winner and a matching amount to a charity of Tina's choice in her honor. So you have 23 plus months to think of your theme to decorate your door and just remember to use 'paint friendly' hangars like those 3M 'easy off' hooks and things. The doors will be judged by Tina, Nick and Leanna. So have fun everyone.

Im not so sure about how friendly those 3M hooks are............I have 2 on my walls I put up at Christmas 07 and still cant figure out how to take them off.........

We used poster putty (some people call it "tacky") on Carnival on our last 2 cruises. It is used a lot by teachers. It worked well on the Carnival cabin doors. Our decorations stayed up the whole cruise and it came off the door without a hitch on the last night.

Are the RCL cabin doors made out of the same material that Carnival is???

yes i think they're just painted doors. last year i used those 3m hooks and they worked ok. i saw some people use tape and i don't think it really did anything to the door but i know that putty stuff works too.

I love crafts & things, but to pack that kind of stuff along with clothes, and still have to fly to New York, puts out of towners at a big disadvantage. But, I'm up for the challenge!

Will it be possible to get the dimensions of the doors?

I"m not able to cruise with all of you But I thought you would like to know that other than a few of the suite catagories the doors are metal, so think magnets.

Hey Pat since you're the one that is putting this together. Does that mean I can't tie Ron to a door and stick a red nose and antlers on him and call him my door decoration?

since you're a judge - you decide what you can call decoration. maybe pet and ron duck taped to the door might be a nice decoration. use the green and red duck tape.

I think as long as you use one of the 3M removable hooks as previously described so you don't damage the door, you will be ok!

i'd pay for the door to be repainted to see that

As long as it's strong enough to hold Ron's yapper shut...it should be fine!
