We are thinking of booking the 2008 Fourth of July cruise to see if Cunard might be a good fit. What can you tell me about Cunard's childrens programs? Thanks

Good question - I'm wondering the same for my sister's kids who would be joining us. Ages 13 and 9 - if that helps.

In a word, Excellent.

For the young ones, there is the playzone for 1-5 year olds. Staffed by qualified British nursery nurses, they have play, movies, a padded play area and a big ball pool. They often go on tours of the ship

Older kids go in the zone, movies, video games galore. Again, British nursery nurses officiate.

Both areas are open 9am-midday 2pm-5pm and 6/8pm-midnight. Meaning you can have some "you" time as well.

Hope this helps (we have a 2 year old that has been on board Cunard ships 3 times and loves the kids program)

James

The programmes for children are excellent, and keep children out of the way. Just what is required for peace and quiet for adults.........

This article describes the Cunard programs on QM2 very well.
