| I was thinking this morning that I would really like a McSkillet Burrito from McDonald's. Then that got me to thinking how I should start a thread about ordering in Spanish while in Spanish-speaking countries. So, I figured I would give you the basics of how to say certain foods. If you have any questions about what a food is that you have seen on a menu or how to order a food, please let me know! Chicken - Pollo (POY-yo) Beef - Carne (CAR-nay) Fish - Pescado (pess-KAH-do) Rice - Arroz (Ahh-ROHss) Cheese - Queso (KAY-soh) Bread - Pan (PAHN) Helado - Ice Cream (hell-AHH-doh) A good word to remember is "con", which means with. If you see something on the menu using the word "con", it means that the two items are served together. For example, Arroz con Pollo is Rice with Chicken. (Actually, the dish is translated to Chicken & Rice, but you get the idea.) Now I really want that burrito... Candy | |
