HOW TO BE A GROUP LEADER ON CRUISE FREEKSIt's easy to start planning and promoting your own Cruise Freeks group cruise. Just follow the instructions and advice we provide below and you'll be on your way to earning a
FREE CABIN FOR YOURSELF.
1.
Pick a Ship and ItinerarySee how many people are interested in joining you by posting in the Group Proposals Section:
https://cruisefreekforums.forumotion.com/group-cruise-proposals-f35/2.
Select a Month to TravelOnce you have a ship and itinerary selected and an initial group that's interested, attempt to select a month that all can agree to travel. Unless you can guarantee you can fill the cabin space yourself, please do not select dates that already have scheduled groups.
3.
Contact TinaOnce you have a firm commitment that you can fill at least 8 cabins. Email Tina at
admin@cruisefreakforums.com with the ship, itinerary and date selected plus you have the option of selecting the travel agent of your choice. It would be wise to contact the travel agent of your choice first to be sure they are available to cruise with your group. If you do not select a specific agent, it will be then put into our travel agent bidding system and the agent will be selected by Tina and the group leader from those who respond to the group request for a travel agent.
4.
Contact Your Assigned Travel AgentOnce you have your assigned travel agent, you will work closely with him or her with the plans for the group including any pre-cruise packages and on-board activities and/or private shore tours.
5.
Your Group CruiseOnce you have a group started and approved, a general broadcast will be sent out to announce the group, and, it will be promoted regularly in both our board member emails and also in our opt-in list which is now hovering around 6,000 emails.
You are also free to promote your group cruise at work, church or other organizations where you can recruit people to join the group. However, that advertising is at your expense .
6.
Remind Group Members to Send in DepositsPart of your duties in earning your free cabin include reminding your group members to send in deposits and, keep them updated about what is happening with the group. This helps take the sole responsibility off the travel agent.
7.
Encourage Purchase of Travel InsuranceIt's important to remember that there are penalties on a group starting at 70 days prior to departure (90 days for holiday cruises) so please encourage every single person in your group to purchase travel insurance. Cruise Freeks accepts no responsibility for those who do not travel insurance.
8.
Plan Some Fun Activities - Before and During the CruiseGive people reasons to book your group! Plan some group activities during the cruise, or make arrangements to go on some shore excursions together. Decide if you want the group to have a pre-cruise party at a day early to get to know each other before
the cruise.
If the group is being organized as a charity fund raiser, then Cruise Freeks will help defer the costs of pre-cruise and on-board activities.9.
Final PaymentFinal payments will be paid directly to the travel agent assigned to your group. Please note that some groups may require the prepayment of gratuities.
10. Have fun - you just earned a FREE CRUISE
Group Leader PerksAll Cruise Freeks groups must have a minimum of 8 cabins booked to be considered a group and receive all of the group perks. As group leader you will receive one free net cruise fare if at least 8 cabins are sold. Any further cabins earned are turned over to the travel agent and/or Cruise Freek Forums.
You cannot earn more than one cabin on any given cruise. No exceptions.Group leaders will need to pay for their cruise upfront, but will be rebated the equivalent rate per berth for the category which has the largest number of cabins booked or according to cruise line group policies. Group leader is responsible for all
