Between the RMS Queen Mary and the SS Normandie: Which liner used more fuel when traveling. Why?

Guessing, I'm going to say the Normandie and that it has something to do with gross tonage of the ship - heavier needing more fuel to go the same distance.

I admit it, I'm stumped.

hint...they added something to the bow, reducing the bow wake...thus saving fuel.

Ok I'll take another guess - QM and it used less fuel because they added a bulb nose to the hull?

Correct Marina. It was indeed the added bulbous nose that reduced drag and reduced fuel consumption. The Queen Mary didn't have this feature.

The first four season (a la Michael J Fox) were both set and filmed in NYC, season five took filming out to Los Angeles.
