| We used to have a yellow lab He is now in doggy heaven. My DD has a yellow lab and she lost her 11 yr choc lab Guess you can say we're a lab family. I do love animals and especially doggies We got a new PetsHotel where we live and so yesterday I went up just to visit and see how it was ran. What a great place!! It's the new Petsmart Dog Hotel. Day camp and overnight stays. I asked if I could come and help out some. I would love to do that. I went to check out the place because we are taking a family cruise for Christmas and I thought my DD might be interested in leaving her yellow lab there. The cost is quite high $35 a night and we'll be gone 9 days. She told me she would just get a neighbor to come over and watch her Love this thread | |

| cruisinmini - i had a lab and I miss him dearly, he developed epilepsy and after two years of trying to care for him and the seizures getting worse and worse, we finally had to put him to sleep. We had him for 9 wonderful years and I want other lab but still haven't found the heart to go out and buy another yet. | |

| Let's Go I was with my bestfriend shopping Friday and she was telling me that I could have this choc lab that is a year and half old (neutered male), but I just cannot bring myself to do it. I could never replace my Rex. And I'm don't think I'm up to being confined to the house again. I really spoil my pets. At least by not having an animal right now, I just get up and go when I want to and come home when I want without the guilt of leaving my pet. I know all you pet lovers know just what I mean. | I have a pair of mutts, both former strays (all of our critters are rescues). The older dog, Carmen, is a German Shepherd mix (some chow and Rhodesian Rigdeback, maybe) and we think the younger dog Blanca (all black) is mostly Border Collie or Australian Shepherd. She will try to herd the cats until the day she dies! We spent a lot of time travelling this year, and made a lot of our housesitter's car payments for him, LOL. The dogs are much happier not being boarded, and it turned out to be less expensive anyway. Plus when Carmen was hospitalized while we were gone in September he went to visit her every couple of days. The vet girls were spoiling her rotten anyway, but I'm sure she appreciated the company! | |

Jean, I've been reading about your precious Carmen. How is she doing? Wow! Talk about a great petsitter. It's nice to know you can leave and your precious ones are taken care of. Glad to hear you guys had a great time on the Alaska cruise Linda | |

| We own two dogs as well. A Pug, and a Boston Terrier. My beloved German Shepherd Dog left us last year after a spinal disease took over at age 11. Dogs are good for the soul. | |
