I wouldn't call that nosey, I call that a smart woman doing her research on us agents!

I first starting dabbling in travel arranging 8 years ago when I took over booking all of my personal and my family's vacations. If was my hobby but then after having the most sub-par service working with an agent again for my honeymoon (because afterall I knew what I was doing but an agent could do it better right?) I decided that as a professional I could correct all the wrongs I encounted. I didn't want to be an agent that just threw a brochure at someone with a list of prices without ever asking what it was they wanted for a trip. I wanted to be a consultant. So, 5 years ago I decided to go full time and started out focusing on the cruise and all-inclusive resort market. I've since refined my partnerships down to those cruise and tour vendors I completely trust with my clients and while my main focus is on cruising I also design custom itineraries for my past clients when a cruise won't take them where they want to go or give them the experiences they are after. I like people and travel arranging is my creative outlet and chance to meet people from all over the world. I've made some very good friends both in clients, my industry colleagues and several of my cruise vendor contacts. I became affliated with Virtuoso a year ago and am loving all of the opportunites I am able to provide for my client's through them!

That's probably more than you wanted to know but if you have any other questions (this goes for all of you on the boards) please don't hesitate to ask Smile

You sound like a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to try to acheive it! You have no idea how many times I've asked travel agents how or why they got into the business and the answers have ranged from "I wanted to travel for free" to "I don't know". Those aren't the types who will earn my business. Your answer is very refreshing and thank you for sharing it with all of us.

Nina is an excellent travel agent and we're thrilled she's handling the Cunard groups associated with the board. She put together two outstanding pre-cruise packages for the Cunard groups thus far, and, has patiently answered all questions without ever becoming annoyed or flustered. We truly appreciate all the time and effort she gives to us.

Dr Demento
Yes, I have cruised on the Symphony, Serenity and the Harmony. Most of my business with Crystal is groups and I accompany the groups if they so desire. Sailed Canada/New England from New York to Montreal; sailed Great Britain and sailed the Panama Canal on her. The feel of importance that Crystal gives each passenger is truly their calling. Nothing is to good for their passengers. They are a 6 star (the industry was surprised because usually the 6 star vessels have one dining and not two seatings) and their size is appealing to many. They have the large professionally run casino, the large ship style entertainment and yet cozy areas to escape. Their excursions have been rated one of the best offered in the industry. It was interesting to know the man who started Crystal was also known for "focusing" on tours off ship. Enough chatter. I believe in this line and it is well worth the money to sail on her. Comparing the suites of others and Crystal is a good thing. I'm glad a group may be forming...I'd like to see one during another time of year other then the holiday as well. Is anyone on this site want to cruise Crystal or is considering it?

I just received an email about this forming group that was forwarded by a friend. The holidays work perfectly for us and, we're very interested even though we're 2.5 years away.

Well if most of the regular Cunard gang are jumping ship, so to speak, more than likely I will too.

Does anyone know if Crystal has lower rates for groups? It's something to consider, I think by that time (2011) we'll be ready to make the quantum leap but, I don't want to make any promises without knowing pricing or Crystals group policies.

Hello, Crystal Cruiser
I have no special itinerary in mind. You all just got me excited about the cruiseline on this posting. Have you cruised Crystal before and where? Did you love it?

I have cruised Crystal many, many times. I was sailing on Crystal when Crystal Harmony was still in the fleet and, I didn't think I'd enjoy the larger Crystal Serenity but, it has turned out to be my favorite ship! I love any of the Mediterranean sailings because Crystal can get their ships into ports where the big boys simply can't go. And, I am a real sucker for any sailings that are Wine & Food Festivals! Put that combination together and I'm ready to book in a heartbeat! lol!

It's my goal to reach Milestone 100 with Crystal Society but, I am only half way there. My next sailing is the Voyage of Kings (London to New York) Voyage 8221 in September, followed by the Caribbean Holiday Cruise (Voyage 8330), next after that one is Sips, Samplings and Sunsets (Voyage 9024). After those I have a long wait until July, 2009 when I will be sailing on the Delicacies of the Old World (Voyage 9315) and the once again I am booked on the Holiday sailing (Voyage 9329) for 2009. I am just beginning to plan for 2010 and now that I know there will be a group for the Holidays in 2011, I will keep it in mind as I plan book.

So many choices, so little time Very Happy

I was attempting to create a photo album for you all to see Crystal Serenity, which more than likely will be our ship for the 2011 Holiday cruise. However, for some reason I am experiencing trouble. Any suggestions what I might be doing wrong?

Click on "Gallery" on the top bar. Once in scroll down and you'll see "Your Personal Album" and you should see "Create Personal Gallery" click that and it should tell you that you've been successful in creating your album Click where it tell you to click and you'll be taken to a page that says "No Pics" and on the left hand side you'll see "Upload Pic", click that and then you can label and upload from there.

Hope that helps!
